Meyersville

We took Jacob to Meyersville (to Grannie and Paw's) home to celebrate his birthday with family. Lots of extend family came to visit for lunch. Jeremy, Kari, Travis, Tyler, Conley, Cole, Mimi and Papa were all there -- we all spent the night, as well. Kari made Jacob's birthday cake. It was a football in vanilla with a grass field on the bottom in chocolate. That was the BEST cake! We bought a slip and slide for the boys, as well as a PVC pipe 'kid car wash' that Ryan made. Also, we filled up about 200 water balloons and let the boys spray each other with silly string. They had LOTS of fun! When it got dark, uncle Jeremy made them glow in the dark necklaces our of the sticks I brought. Papa took them all for a tractor ride, then they played hide-in-seek with the glow in the dark necklaces. It was a great birthday weekend! Happy #7 to my little man!

Opening Presents

Ryan and I had Jacob open presents the day before his birthday since we were leaving on his birthday super early to go to Meyersville to celebrate with family. He had a great time opening presents. A few days before we had told him that he had a really big surprise present. The first present we gave him we told him was the "BIG" one, turned out it was really underwear! It was pretty funny. His "BIG" present was an iPod touch, which we put in a bag and turned the music on. He was surprised for sure!

The Birthday Boy

Jacob celebrated his birthday the Friday before at school. Here is a picture of him with his cute birthday crown. He also got a special book donated to the school library in honor of his birthday. It was a book about how Teddy Roosevelt help set up national parks.

Jacob and Day

Jacob and I went to Dallas during Spring Break in March. Here is a cute photo of Jacob and his "Day" on the swing. Jacob had a great time and especially loved playing with his Rotten!

Family

Here are a couple of photos of Jacob and his cousins and uncle T. This was taken at the beginning of January.

Christmas 2011

Christmas was very quiet this year. We went to Ryan's parents on Christmas Eve and opened presents. It was just the five of us. Jacob had a great time and got way too many treasures!

Christmas in Dallas

We spent the week before Christmas in Dallas with my family. It was very enjoyable. Jacob had a lot of fun. We didn't get any snow while we were there.

Learning to shoot

Uncle T bought Jacob a BB gun before Christmas. Since Uncle T was gone for Christmas, he let Jacob open it early! He was thrilled! Here are a couple of pics of Ryan teaching Jacob to aim at a box in the backyard. He is pretty good with it. We have taken it with us to Ryan's grandparent's home where it is more open than where we live. I wish it would teach him some patience!

It's Gingie!

Before Christmas, Jacob came home with a blank Gingerbread Man to decorate for a game at school where they had to guess who decorated which one. Can you guess which one is his? Ryan spent about 90% more time on it than Jacob!

Jacob and his pup

Jacob loves his Taylor! Here is a pic of the two of them together while Taylor is waiting to see the vet.

Jacob's new cast

Jacob broke his arm the day before Thanksgiving! We were playing soccer in the back yard and he was walking backwards. Neither Ryan or I saw this happen, but he says that he feel on his arm. Needless to say, he was in excruciating pain. We took him to the ER and it was confirmed that it was broken. Because it was Thanksgiving weekend, we were not able to get a cast on it until the next Monday.

He choose maroon for his Aggies! The cast came off on Dec. 22nd, right before Christmas!

The funny things Jacob says!

We were at my husband's grandparent's home on December 23rd to visit for the holidays. We didn't want her to have to cook a big meal (as we knew she would), so we stopped and picked up bbq. My mother-in-law made a pecan pie for dessert. Jacob had a slice and asked, "Mimi is this yellow stuff in the pie snot?" He was quite serious!

One of Jacob's uncles has been dating lately. On New Year's Eve, he asked where his Uncle T was, since he wasn't at my in-laws home while we were there. We told him that he was out on a date with his new girlfriend. Jacob said, "Ewww, I hope he doesn't like her too much, because then he might want to kiss her!"
