This poor old house is falling apart... We had a super high electric bill last month, so Ryan requested that we have our A/C unit serviced and checked on thinking it might be the cause of the sky high bill. We noticed our home wasn't as cool as it was this time last summer. Our A/C unit is new, we had it replaced last March. Anyway, the service tech. came out today and said our duct work was falling apart. He did a temporary fix, so that our cold air isn't just pumped into the attic, as it had been due to a section of duct work falling apart! Anyway, there goes another thousand plus for this old house.... He is the real kicker.... remember a couple of posts ago when I mentioned that we spent $500 having a mold treatment sprayed into the duct work. Well, needless to say that putting in new duct work (which is our next project) would have taken care of the mold issue. There goes $500 down the drain for this old house!
