Our newest addition

A neighbor was trying to find a home for their Chinchilla, so of course I offered to take him in. Originally I thought he would be a great pet for my preschool class, since our class frog died last school year. Now, I really want to keep him at our home! He is adorable! Jacob and I LOVE him and even Ryan enjoys holding him and petting him! Jacob wanted to name him a color, but he ended up decided to just name him Chinchilla! How creative, right? We call him Chiny, Chili and Chin Chin. He is the softest thing I have ever felt. Our pups are his biggest fan!

Jacob and Taylor

At first it was a love/hate relationship. With Jacob loving Taylor and Taylor hating Jacob, but now Taylor actually seems to enjoy sitting with Jacob (SOMETIMES!).

Swimmers Take Your Marks

Those have been Jacob's favorite words for the past couple of months! Here are a couple of pictures of our little swimmer. He was on our neighborhood swim team (Memorial Parkway Swim Team) this May and June. He did such a great job! Jacob swam freestyle in the individual heat and relay, and he swam in the backstroke heat. He was in all four swim meets and even placed 1st in the freestyle at one of the meets. He made it to the Meet of Champs and swam in four different heats. He swam with the 7-8 year olds in the medly relay, they placed 3rd, so he got a medal! At his swim party, he got a huge trophy and the MVP award in his age group!

Toothless

On Wednesday, June 8th, Jacob lost two teeth! His front bottom teeth! They had been loose for a week or so. When he was at his Mimi's house she pulled them! The tooth fairy visited him that night!

Medieval Times

Saturday night we took Jacob to Medieval Times. He LOVED all of it! We got him a fancy lightup sword to cheer on the green knight. At first he wasn't wild about eating with his hands, but then he got the hang of it and has been wanting to eat that way at home! In the end, the price won the tournament, but the green knight gave us some great entertainment!

Going to Dallas

We took Jacob to Dallas for his bithday weekend. On Friday night we went to a Texas Ranger's baseball game. The first couple of innings were great, as the Ranger's scored back-to-back homeruns! They shot of fireworks, which made Jacob's day! Until the 9th inning, the Ranger's were ahead, then one of the Kansas City Royal's scored a homerun and tied the game. It went into overtime until the 14th inning. We kept telling Jacob that we could go back to the hotel, but he wanted to stay for the firework show at the end! Go figure! At midnight the fireworks started, they were great! Jacob said staying for the overtime was worth it! We didn't get back to our hotel room until after 1am!

On Saturday Day came to our hotel for a visit. Jacob showed off his swimming skills and opened a few presents.

Jacob's 6th Birthday

Jacob had a pool party at a friend's pool (their subdivision's pool to be exact!). He had a great time! Everyone came except for two friends who were out-of-town. The kids played in the pool for hours, then had pizza and cupcakes (with a Star Wars theme). I had to practically pull Jacob out of the pool to open presents as friends were leaving.
After the pool party, I took Jacob and one of his friends (Jeremy) to see Kung Fu Panda 2 -- on its opening day! I loaded them up with popcorn, soda and candy. The boys loved the movie, they both said it was better than the first one. I thought it had much more action than the first, must be why they liked it better!
That afternoon, Uncle T came over and brought Jacob some gifts from him, Uncle Matt and Uncle Jeremy. Jacob got Wipeout for Wii from Uncle T and Uncle Matt. From Uncle Jeremy, Jacob got a new fish acquarium that changes colors with a light in the middle.
Later that night we let Jacob open his gifts from us. We got him several Wii games and board games. For dinner we took him out to Texas Roadhouse.
